Students should be challenged to memorize their favorite two (2) stanzas. Pick a day (a few days from today) that volunteers will recite what they have memorized. On the selected date be very encouraging and supportive in their attempts, as this will set the stage for future and more extensive memorization.
Date Selected: _______________________________
Volunteers: ________________________________________________________________________

Refer students to the “My Favorites” section at the end of their workbooks. Explain that this is their list of words and phrases they will use against a bully if ever encountered. Whenever they see words or phrases within a poem they want to remember, they are to write them down, rehearse saying them, and memorize them. When practicing they are to pretend they are looking a bully right in the eye and say those exact words with confidence.
Students will now have the opportunity to use their creativity to write a poem (or essay if they prefer) about being keenly aware of their surroundings. Their writing should incorporate the skills taught in the original poem.
Space is provided in their workbooks; please provide more paper if needed, stapling it in the appropriate place in the workbook. Be sure to read each of their poems and congratulate them on their application of the skills/words they have learned from the original poem. Ask students to volunteer to read their poems/essays.
Your students are well on their way to learning safety, self-confidence, and awareness skills to help prevent and protect against bullying.
REMINDER: Modules 1-16 are followed by a short quiz (in the student workbooks) so students can demonstrate mastery of the lesson. This is followed by a teacher evaluation, taking into consideration various aspects of what the students have learned from that module. Please make special note of any particular accomplishments, improvements made, or areas in need of improvement. Your signature and date follow at the bottom of the page.
