INTRODUCTION TO THE BULLIES BE GONE PROJECT COMPREHENSIVE TRAINING
Today’s society demands solutions to the devastating and growing attacks of bullies within our schools, communities, business establishments, neighborhoods, some police departments, and the list continues. Few entities are exempt from the actions of bullies. Victims of bullying often carry with them unhealthy lifelong emotional scars.
Al Johnson, the author of this highly comprehensive training has attacked the issue from an effective and unique position. First, as a high school Special Education teacher for twenty-five years, he has witnessed and been amid numerous forms of bullying, including with the involvement of weapons.
Secondly, as a child, teen, and young adult, Al experienced firsthand the negative emotional impact of overt racial discrimination and mandated segregation in Jonesboro, AK, and Kansas City, MO. Additionally, there was bullying within Al’s segregated neighborhood. Living daily in such environments led to Al developing keen street awareness, and personal safety skills and techniques to survive.
Al also knows firsthand, the devastating loss of self-esteem as well as hatred that can develop and fester in those who have been bullied. Gratefully, he was able to recover from his low self-esteem, replacing it with positive self-empowerment and social skills and effectively, over time, replacing his hatred with compassion, harmony, peace, and love.
It is with this expansive background of experiences that the BULLIES BE GONE! PROJECT, (a.k.a. BBGP) was birthed. This anti-bullying and social skills curriculum intend to provide students with effective and sustainable skills and techniques to eliminate and prevent bullying, comprehensively and uniquely.
The training also includes addressing bullies directly with powerful WORDS and skills to change their MINDSET and cease their inappropriate behavior.
BBGP training is comprehensive, so much so that it is written with the intent of teaching eighteen (18) modules over the course of the entire school year, starting at any month withing the year. (Meaning, starting at the beginning of the school year is not necessary, as it can continue through the next school year.)
Ninety-five percent (95%) of students and adults, no matter their place of residence, DO NOT possess the vital life skills training the BBGP comprehensive anti-bullying and social skills course imparts. It is Al Johnson’s passionate quest to substantially lower this deficiency.
