STUDENT SURVEY
A good place to start is by determining the current climate of your school environment through conducting a survey. This could be helpful as you consider the placement of personnel who monitor student activity, particularly outside of the classroom and away from adults, where bullying most often occurs.
The following basic bullying survey is to be given to students to anonymously complete and submit at the end of September (when the school year has “settled in”), and the first of June, to evaluate the results of changes implemented in the fall.
The purpose is to identify things like the frequency and locations of bullying behavior, the effectiveness of current staff efforts in prevention and intervention efforts, the frequency and types of bullying, hot spots for bullying activity, etc.
As efforts are made to place certain personnel in certain places to help ensure safety for students (as well as staff), consider getting input from your students.
Below you will find a survey. Please print and distribute to students, who will anonymously complete the survey at the beginning of this training, and then again toward the end of the school year.
The survey does not pertain to the BBGP curriculum, but to identify general bullying behavior, effectiveness of intervention efforts, bullying hot spots, etc.
Both survey results are to be given to the designated school administrator in consideration of any necessary changes in staff placement of personnel, etc.
